Some people ask: "Why should I believe the Bible if it doesn't seem true?"
Answer: Where do you wish to spend eternity?
The other big question most people have is this –
Question: "What can I, or my family, possibly have done that merits eternal torture in a lake of fire?"
Answer: You were born.
Your "original sin" does not refer to a "creative" one, or to some mischief that no one but you ever thought of committing. "Original sin" denotes your condition from the moment you were first conceived.
(Granted, some fertilised eggs are more sinful than others, but none is innocent in the eyes of God. And if you don't know why the Lord should consider you wicked when you were just a fertilised egg, imagine for a moment what your mother did to get you there! Do you think the Lord approves when a man and woman do that? how naive can you be?).
Here's how the system works:
1. "Everyone has sinned, and fallen short of glorifying God" (Rom. 3:23).
2. Yes, that means you, from the moment of conception.
3. "The wages of sin is eternal damnation" (Rom. 6:23, Mark 9:44-49, et al.).
(That is actually why abortion is so frustrating in the eyes of God: abortion condemns those helpless fetuses to eternal suffering in a lake of fire, like eggs sizzling in a frying-pan, without ever giving the little guppies a chance to have been born again!)
